1. Introduction

Yoran Bot ("the Bot", "we", "us", "our") is a Discord bot operated by Yoran Studio and designed for Roblox complex systems shop communities. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you interact with the Bot.

By using Yoran Bot, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Bot's features that require data access.

2. Information We Collect

Yoran Bot operates primarily within Discord and does not collect personal information beyond what is strictly necessary for its features. The only feature that involves external data is the YouTube subscription verification (/verifyyoutube).

When you use /verifyyoutube, the following data is temporarily accessed:

Discord User ID — to identify which Discord account to assign a verified role to
YouTube subscription data — via Google OAuth 2.0 Device Authorization Flow, using the youtube.readonly scope. We check only whether your YouTube account is subscribed to a specific channel. We do not access your watch history, liked videos, playlists, or any other YouTube data.

We do not collect:

Your email address or real name
Your Google account password or credentials
Your YouTube watch history, comments, or uploads
Any payment or financial information
Any data beyond what is listed above

3. How We Use Your Information

The data we temporarily access is used exclusively for the following purpose:

To verify that your YouTube account is subscribed to the designated YouTube channel
To assign the appropriate Discord role upon successful verification

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than subscription verification.

4. Google OAuth and YouTube API

Yoran Bot's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

When you run /verifyyoutube, you are redirected to Google's Device Authorization page (google.com/device) where you authorize our app. This authorization is handled entirely by Google. We only receive a temporary access token once you approve.

That token is used a single time to call the YouTube Data API v3 and check your subscription status. It is then discarded — we do not store, log, or reuse it.

You can revoke Yoran Bot's access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing the app.

5. Data Retention

We do not permanently store any personal data from Google or YouTube. The only persistent data we store is your Discord User ID paired with your assigned Discord role — this is standard Discord bot behavior and is stored locally on the server hosting the Bot.

OAuth access tokens obtained during verification are used once and immediately discarded. No database stores your YouTube credentials, tokens, or subscription details.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. The only external service we communicate with during the YouTube verification process is Google's YouTube Data API v3, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Security

All communication between Yoran Bot and Google's API is performed over HTTPS. Access tokens are never written to disk, logged to files, or stored in any database. We take reasonable measures to protect the data we handle, though no system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Yoran Bot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Know what data we collect about you (described in Section 2)
Revoke Google OAuth authorization at any time via your Google account
Request removal of any data associated with your Discord account by contacting us

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
